

Ephraim Taylor was born April 15, 1933 in Aiken County, South Carolina to Emanuel Tessie and Mamie Elam Taylor. He was the ninth of thirteen children born to this union. His parents, seven sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
Ephraim received his formal education in Aiken County, South Carolina and grew up attending Mount Fiduration Baptist Church in South Carolina. He later moved to San Diego, California where he joined and was baptized at Good Faith Church of the Living God, pastored by Elder Harvey Jones. In 1992 he moved his membership to Faith Chapel Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Roy Dixon.
While at Faith Chapel, he worked and endlessly served the Finance Department, Brotherhood, Bible Band, Men’s Choir, Trustee Board, and the Sunday School Department as a teacher.
Ephraim was a hard worker and believed that you had to be up early to perform an earnest day’s pay. While in South Carolina, he worked at the Clear Water Mill and after moving to San Diego, California and began working for AO Reed as a plumber for eight years. In 1965 he became a self employed licensed plumber until 2004 when his health began to decline. Everyone who knew Ephraim knew that plumbing was his life.
In 1992, he met his future wife, Nona. They later married on January 24, 1994 and blended their families together. Due to Ephraim’s declining health, in June 2007, they moved to Corona, California, with Nona’s daughter.
Twenty years after marrying his devoted wife Nona, Ephraim’s spirit parted his earthly body after hearing the sweet voice of Nona whispering “Good morning baby, Happy 20th Anniversary.” He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving, devoted wife and caregiver Nona Taylor, two brothers, Charlie Taylor of Virginia and Isaac Taylor of South Carolina; six children, Eman Ibn Ephraim Abdul-Mateen (Lydia) of Richmond, VA, Vickie Taylor-Nance (Felix) of Wildomar, CA, Emanuel Jay Taylor of Gilbert AZ, Edward Taylor (Valecita) of San Jose, CA, Jennifer Taylor-Munoz (Julio) and Rachel Taylor of San Diego, CA; five extended children, Jacqueline Renee) Brumfield of Corona, CA, Patricia Scott of San Jacinto, CA , Paul Jones (Latrici) of Hesperia, CA, DeVona Jones of San Bernardino, CA and Crystal Cross (Darryn) of Fresno, CA; fourteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Visition and Funeral Services will be held at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Ave., Ontario, Ca. 91762. Visitation will start at 10:00AM and Funeral Service will start at 11:00AM. Burial will be following at Pomona Valley Memorial Park, 502 E. Franklin Ave., Pomona, Ca.
