Yanira Velasco

Her life began in El Salvador with her 3 siblings Rufina, Elmer, and Evelyn. There, she went to school, graduated college, and began her family with Roberto Velasco.

Throughout her life Yanira was a humble and selfless person. She radiated life and spirit in any room that she entered, and every encounter she made with others was always for friendship and support. As a hardworking mother, she put forth all her effort to nurture and foster her children Alex, Rebeca, Chris, Daniel, and Nicolas.

She was a devout Catholic and found spiritual support within that community. Her life was dedicated to serving God, her kids, her family, and anyone who needed a lending hand.

In the last months of her life, she battled cancer, a disease that tested her faith and her family’s faith as well. However, this challenge ultimately united her family even more.

On August 4, 2014 she passed away. A well loved person, she will forever be remembered in the hearts and minds of her family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors as a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt and, most importantly, a friend.

Yanira Velasco nació el 5 de Octubre de 1960 en Pasaquina, un pequeño pueblo de El Salvador. Sus padres, Dagoberto y Maria Vásquez, cultivaron siempre en ella el amor a la familia, la humildad y el servicio a los demás. Y así siempre lo demostró con sus hermanos Rufina, Elmer y Evelyn.

A temprana edad formó una bella familia con Roberto Velasco y juntos, inculcarían su amor a sus 5 hijos Alex, Rebeca, Christopher, Daniel, y Nicolás. Siempre llena de vida, Yanira acudía a cualquier necesidad de su familia. Fue una mujer con un corazón bondadoso, dispuesta siempre a dar de sí sin alguna excusa.

Durante su vida encontró siempre un gran apoyo en la Iglesia y en los hermanos de su comunidad. Y de igual manera, ellos encontraron en ella una amiga servicial lista para ayudar en cualquier actividad o necesidad.

En sus últimos meses, Yanira se enfrentó contra el cáncer, una enfermedad que puso a prueba su espíritu luchador y alegre pero a la vez resaltó sus virtudes del amor a su familia en los peores momentos. Siempre con perseverancia y serenidad, se aseguró que su familia se apoyara mutuamente. En este tiempo de dificultad, se dedicó a la oración por su familia y su comunidad. Jamas perdió aquella alegría y fuerza heróica que nos deja como legado.

Toda persona que tuvo el privilegio de conocerla, descubrió que Yanira fue una mujer fácil de querer. Se fue al cielo el 4 de Agosto del 2014. Esperamos la dicha de reunirnos con ella en el Cielo.
