Barbara L. Silverman

Dear daughter of the late Oscar and Pauline (Lederman) Shapiro. Barbara grew up in Brighton and attended Boston Public Schools. She studied language at the Boston Hebrew Teacher’s College.

She worked as an office manager at Custom Fabric Care in Wellesley, MA. As a single mother, she worked three jobs to support her children. The family spent many summers at York Beach in Maine. In later years, she was thrilled to become a grandmother and was very active in her granddaughter’s life, never missing any of her events, such as dance and theatre.

She is survived by her three sons, Michael H. Silverman, Craig M. Silverman and his wife Kristen, Brian Silverman and his wife Sandra; her sister, Arlene Shapiro; and her cherished granddaughter Brittany Silverman. She was also the beloved companion of Richard Simone.

Funeral services will be held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton, MA on Friday, December 28th at 10 AM, followed by burial at Beit Olam East Cemetery, Wayland, MA.

Memorial observance will be at the home of Craig and Kristen Silverman on Friday following burial until 4 PM, Saturday from 5-8 PM and Sunday from 12-5 PM.
