Charlotte Sue (Lipsky) Greenfield of Canton, and formerly of Mashpee, entered into rest on May 10, 2026 at the age of 87. Charlotte was the cherished daughter of the late Molly and Dr. Solomon Lipsky of Brookline. The beloved wife of the late David Greenfield for fifty-eight years, prior to his passing in 2018.
Charlotte was a devoted and treasured mother to Joni Chasen, a dedicated and precious Grammy to Alex Chasen, a beloved mother to Debby Dedecko, and a dear mother-in-law to Nicholas Dedecko. She also leaves behind her cherished brother, Alan Lipsky, and his wife, Judy, with deep affection. Charlotte was a dear aunt and great aunt.
Charlotte’s life was defined by dedication—to her family, her work, her faith, and the people she cared for. After graduating from Brookline High School, she built a meaningful career in the medical field, first as a Medical Lab Technician and later as an Oral Surgical Assistant. In her mid-thirties, she embraced a profound personal milestone when she became a Bat Mitzvah, a moment that reflected her commitment to growth and tradition.
When Charlotte and her beloved husband, David, retired to Mashpee, she did not slow down. Instead, she poured her energy into serving others. For twenty-four years, she volunteered as a driver for the Aid for Cancer Research, offering far more than transportation. To those she helped, she brought companionship, comfort, dignity—and an infectious smile that could ease even the heaviest of days. That was Charlotte—steadfast, uplifting, and always finding ways to brighten the lives of others.
Her generosity extended to the youngest members of her community as well. At the Kenneth C. Coombs School and the Quashnet School, she spent countless hours reading to students in grades K–5. She brought stories to life, encouraged imaginations, and made every child feel seen. Her presence in the classroom was a gift—steady, joyful, and deeply nurturing.
Charlotte’s significant impact within the Mashpee community earned her official recognition, a testament to the countless lives she touched. Yet for her, the true reward was never the acknowledgment; it was the simple joy of helping others grow, learn, and feel valued.
Charlotte loved her family endlessly and passionately. Her warmth, strength, and spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, and her legacy of kindness will continue to echo in the lives she touched. Charlotte made wonderful friendships with the other residents at Orchard Cove. Those friendships, along with the best-in-class team who cared for Charlotte, will never be forgotten.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 475 Washington Street, Canton. Interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
Immediately following services, a Celebration of Life will be held at Orchard Cove, 1 Del Pond Drive, Canton, where family and friends will gather to honor Charlotte’s remarkable spirit and the love she shared so generously.
Expressions of sympathy in Charlotte’s memory may be made to the Dementia Society of America, www.dementiasociety.org.
