Ed was born on August 28, 1937, in Boston to Adele (Beckerman) and Ralph Tucker. He grew up in Brookline, MA and graduated from The Ohio State University. Ed is survived by his wife of 62 years Sandi (Abrams), and by his daughters Amy (Tucker) Carroll (and son-in-law Harley Carroll), and Jodi Tucker (and son-in-law Timothy Hughes), his sister Susan (Tucker) Ostrow, his grandchildren Benjamin Carroll (and wife Cara Yaglom Carroll), Kendall Tucker (and husband Connor Tweardy), Chelsea Carroll and Mollie Carroll and his great-grandchildren Zachary and Zoey Carroll. Ed and Sandi lived for many years in Framingham, MA before moving to Boca Raton, FL.
Ed founded The Casual Male in 1969, a men's discount clothing store originally located in Sudbury, MA. Ed successfully sold the much expanded company in 1986. Ed's hobbies included tennis, fishing and working on his golf game. He was a long-time fan of the Boston Celtics and NCAA men's basketball. Known for his sharp business acumen and his unwavering work ethic, Ed put his skills to work by volunteering for several years with the Massachusetts Department of Corrections, mentoring inmates on how to find employment after their release. Ed was a man of great character, integrity, and dry wit, always making those around him chuckle.
