

Frederick Trusten of Milton, previously of Boston, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, at the age of 80.
He was the son of the late Harry and Ida Trusten. He was the husband of Joanne Fisher of Milton for 43 years.
He was the beloved father of Nate Trusten (Maura Monahan) and Ethan Trusten (Veronica) all of Weymouth. He was a proud grandfather of Alessia Trusten and Cormac Trusten, and the brother of Phyllis Udell.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews
Fred was born in Boston on February 28, 1946. He started his career with the Department of Transitional Assistance (formerly the Department of Public Welfare) in 1970 as a social worker at the Grove Hall Office in Dorchester. He became very active in the union as a social worker and eventually worked for Local 509, SEIU. He was a long-time union member. He served as Field Representative, then the President and finally retired as the Director of Field Operations.
Fred raised orchids and bonsai. He was very proud of his bonsai collection; and loved giving them to his friends.
Fred loved his family, especially his two sons and grandchildren. He was a kind and generous person throughout his life.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Wednesday, April 1st at 10:30 AM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton. Burial will follow at Lawrence Avenue Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury.
Shiva will be held at his late residence following services until 8 PM
