Daughter of the late Ruth (Hanches) and Milton Ginsburg. Loving wife of Allen Hymovitz of 58 years. Beloved mother of Scott Hymovitz and his wife Janice of Weymouth, Marc Hymovitz and his partner Alicia of Boston, and David Hymovitz and his wife Kristen of Needham. Cherished grandmother of Bryn, Maeve, Ty and Delaney. Sister of Marcia Royce of Canton and the late Helene Ginsburg. Loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Gail was born in Boston, on February 15, 1942. An original Bostonian, she lived many years there in the West End, Dorchester, Hyde Park and Mattapan before moving to Randolph. There, with her husband Allen, she raised her three sons.
Gail’s greatest joy was her family. And she lived her life for them. Known as the original “Rink Mom”, she enjoyed watching hockey games, first when her own sons played, and then when her grandchildren did. They could always count on her to be a faithful and staunch supporter, as well as their number one fan. But her commitment to their hockey passions extended to even greater involvement when she was elected to the Randolph Youth Hockey Board of Directors. She also served as a Den Mother for Cub Scouts. Gail’s passion was her family and her magic was her dedication to raising them to follow their interests and dreams.
While the job that she would be most proud of was being the stay-at-home mom for her sons in their younger years, Gail then subsequently worked for many years as a successful Sales Manager for Tupperware. She was recognized nationally as a top saleswoman. After retiring from sales, she finished her career working for the national publication, “The Jewish Advocate.”
Gail’s faith was an important and integral part of her life. She attended services and religious programs regularly, and managed the Sisterhood store, the rummage sales and other events. She received her Bat Mitzvah at the age of 50. This was a time where her commitment to her faith was heightened, and she traveled on multiple occasions to Israel with her temple organizations. As a representative of the Temple Beth Am Sisterhood, she was honored with receiving the Woman of Valor Award.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 12 Noon at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton. Burial at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon.
A luncheon will follow burial. The family will be sitting shiva at her late residence on Thursday 4-8 PM, Friday 2-5 PM, and Sunday 2-5 PM.
