

Born in Boston to Louis and Lillian Golden, he was the youngest of three. He is predeceased by his older sister Marilyn and older brother Donny.
Irwin Grew up in Boston and graduated from Boston English High School. After two years in Korea, he returned home and began working in newspaper delivery. Irwin was a member of the Teamsters Local 259 for over 50 years working his way up from delivery driver for the Record American to Superintendent of delivery at the Boston Herald. He held that position for over 20 years until his retirement at 71.
Irwin and Sylvia were married on November 10, 1957. They would have celebrated 66 years of marriage this year. Together they had three children and four grandchildren. Irwin loved his family above all else.
His happiest moments were by his backyard pool or at the Cape house with his children and then later his grandchildren by his side. Irwin’s goal in life was to be all inclusive and make everyone happy. It gave him joy to make people laugh and smile.
Irwin is survived by Sylvia Golden, his wife of 65 years; his daughter Marjorie Golden of Boca Raton, FL; his son James and his wife Cohava Golden of Sharon, MA; and his daughter Karen Golden of Norwood, MA. Irwin also leaves four grandchildren, Liat, Eitan, Alex, and Max who will miss him dearly.
