Ishak was loved and respected by many, and was known to be a gentle and kind man.
He was the beloved husband of the late Suzanne (Marzouk) Hefez. Devoted father of Yomtov Hefez and his wife Daniele; Abraham Hefez and his wife Lisa; Joseph Hefez and his wife Dina; and his late son Matthew Raphael Hefez and daughter-in-law Mervat. Cherished grandfather of Ron, Nathan, Julie, Aaron, Lauren, Stephanie, Alex, Darren and Eric and great-grandfather of Norah, Layah, Jade, Evan, Lily, Vincent, Scarlet, Bridget, Abigail, Griffin, and August. Loving longtime companion of Germaine Darwish.
Ishak was born in Egypt, the youngest of four brought up by their widowed mother. In 1956, he immigrated to Israel with his late wife, Suzanne Marzouk, and two children. There he used his talent in looming and fabric and worked extra to provide for his growing family. In 1967, he immigrated with his wife and four sons to the United States to reunite with his brother and sisters. He worked in textile until 1980, when he opened Hefez & Sons Jewelers, a trade he learned from his father-in-law, in the hopes of having his four sons working together. Thanks to his foresight, Hefez & Sons now has four locations and is employing his children, their wives, and one grandchild.
Services were held privately. A celebration of his life will be planned in the near future.
