
Louis was born on October 5, 1933 in Boston, MA to the late Maurice & Lillian (Morris) Korey. He grew up in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston and graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School. After high school, Louis got a scholarship to Northeastern University; where he played football for the Huskies. After graduating with his Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Louis served in the 3rd Armored Division in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. During his enlistment, he got to play football and baseball for the Army team. After his discharge from the Army, he went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Education from Boston University and a Master’s Degree in Guidance Counseling from Boston State College. Louis taught business for ten years at Warren Junior High School in Newton, MA. He did the remainder of his career as a guidance counselor at Whitman Hanson Regional High School.
Lou was the beloved husband of Constance (Weinberg) Korey. Loving father of Jeff Korey, Risa Steward and her husband Al, and the late Evan Korey. Cherished grandfather of Ethan Steward and Harley Steward. Devoted brother of Sylvia Greenberg.
Private graveside service with full military honors will take place at Beth El Cemetery in West Roxbury.
