Peter just had a wonderful birthday celebration with his wife Lori just 9 days earlier, not only celebrating his birthday but their recent move into a beautiful new home.
Born in Medford, MA he was the son of the late Samuel Vandermolen and Ruth (Cohen), and stepson of the late Sydney Zeitlin. He was the loving husband of Lori (Coleman) Vandermolen and dog dad to Lulu and the late Packy. He was also a devout brother to Roberta Vandermolen and the late Eieen Vandermolen, and son-in-law to Nanci (Green) Landy and her husband Robert.
Peter grew up in Boston as a talented baseball player, graduating from Newton South High School and went on to Norwich University in Vermont until he was drafted to play for a AAA team in Oklahoma. After an early injury, Peter had to leave the sport he loved and joined the family business to manage operations for a power plant and the plastics industry. He shared a passion with his mother Ruth of owning collections of many interesting and unique items. Some of his favorites included artwork, antiques, sculptures and his coin collections.
Services will be held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington St, Canton MA on Thursday, June 30th at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Beth El Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury.
Donations in his memory can be made to any of the following charities: ASPCA, American Heart Association, or Wounded Warriors (attention PTSD).
