Robert Alan Bloom of Walpole, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 65 years of age. Son of Rosalie (Rotman) Bloom and her late husband Stephen Bloom. Loving husband of Lisa (Hirshberg) Bloom of 39 years. Beloved father of Matthew and Michael Bloom. Brother to Ellen Bridges and her husband David, Dina Browne and her husband John, Pamela Levin and her husband Josh. Uncle to Meaghan McLaughlin and her husband George, Nicole Lynch and her husband Kevin, Erika Bridges, Billy Bridges, Sawyer Levin, and Raquel Levin. Proud dog dad to Lacey.
Robert was born in Brookline on August 20, 1959. He grew up in Brighton and graduated Brighton High School with high honors, earning a scholarship from the City of Boston for college. Robert went on to attend Boston University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communications. He also earned an Executive Business Management certificate from Dartmouth College.
Robert was a dedicated employee at MRO Software for over 30 years, starting in the company’s mailroom and working his way to the boardroom as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Communications. He was also a consultant to various tech companies and a longtime mentor to the Boston Scholars Program. He cherished his many friends and travels in his career. Robert also pursued his passion for sports cars (a red Corvette!) and horse racing by forming Bloom Racing Stables where he succeeded at training and racing thoroughbreds for many years.
Robert’s proudest accomplishments were his two children raised in Walpole. He enjoyed every moment watching Matthew and Michael excel in sports, school, music, and their professional careers. As an avid sports fan, Robert loved to take the boys to see the Red Sox and the Bruins, as well as family vacations to watch his favorite teams.
We know Robert will live long in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service at 10 AM on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Crawford Street Memorial Park Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA.
Friends and family are invited back to the Bloom’s Walpole home immediately following the service until 3 PM and later that day from 5-8 PM.
