

Kaplan, Ruth E. (Cohen) Sugarman of Newton, formerly of Revere, passed away on April 26, 2016 at the age of 100. Loving mother and grandmother, devoted wife, daughter, sister, friend and caregiver. She lived life with grace and courage; and had a selfless gift of spreading joy. Ruth was preceded in her death by her husband of 10 years, Cy Sugarman; and by her husband of 45 years, Julius Kaplan; a son, Lester, a brother; Daniel E. Cohen and sister-in-law Pearl Cohen. Ruth leaves 3 children: Linda Wollman and her husband Drew, Phillip Kaplan and Susan Nathanson, and Gayle Greenstein and her husband Tod, a brother, Mickey Cail and his wife Lois; her 16 grandchildren: Pamela, Mark, Elyse, Jeffrey, Cheryl, Rhonda, Greg, Michael, Amanda, Eric, Suzanne, Gregory, Lara, Ryan, Jillian, and Sophie and her 12 great-grandchildren: Ethan, Lucas, Jacob, Jake, Max, Sam, Chloe, Ava, Olivia, Eliana, Jack and Caleb; many loving nieces and nephews and dear friends. Her funeral will be held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 475 Washington Street, Canton on Sunday, May 1st at 10am. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Gayle and Tod Greenstein on Sunday following interment, and Monday and Tuesday from 1-4 and 7-9pm.
