

Betty, the daughter of Joseph E. and Jeanne L. (St. Pierre) Macy, was born in Topeka, KS and raised in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Baker University in Baldwin City, KS where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She excelled in sports and was a member of the University Choir. Following graduation, Betty became a District Director of the Topeka, Kansas Girl Scout Council and later held a similar position with the Great Trail (Canton, OH) Girl Scout Council. She also taught swimming at Walsh University. For years, she was active in the Lady Niners Golf League at Edgewood Golf Course. On May 1, 1965, Betty married Joseph C. Paparone of Canton.
Survivors include her beloved husband, three children, Kathy (Daniel) Lineweaver of Uniontown, Joseph C. Paparone II (Stacy) of Oil City, PA and Jeffrey P. Paparone (Christine) of Surprise, AZ and six grand-children – Elizabeth, Nicholas, Andrew, Morgan, Charles and Oscar, and one sister Madeline (Rick) Day of Virginia Beach, VA. She is also survived by several close family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and twin sister Shirley Thomas.
Services will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in North Canton on Saturday February 10th, at 10:00 am with internment to follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park and Memorial Gardens. The Family will receive guests at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on February 9th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Memorials are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House, St. Paul’s Catholic Church or to a charity of choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Stacey Hollaway and her staff as well as the Aultman Hospital MICU staff for their extraordinary care.
