Brian Joseph Genetin, 40, of Canton, Ohio, passed away on August 13, 2024. He was born in Canton, Ohio at Mercy Medical on August 28, 1983, to Ronald and Kathleen Genetin. After graduating from GlenOak High School in 2002 he pursued his career in insurance sales.
An avid Cleveland sports fan, Brian abhorred the Deshaun Watson trade and evidently thought the Browns could win with Baker Mayfield. Brian had a passion for WWE wrestling, though his sister forbade him from sharing his love with his nephews. He collected retro-1980’s toys and dreamed of having his own 1980’s specific room.
Brian was affectionately referred to as the comedian’s dream, always sharing a story or joke that would make the whole room laugh. A connoisseur of anything mint-flavored, Brian enjoyed the simple pleasures we often overlook daily.
He loved his family and adored his fiancée, Amber, and daughter, Brooklyn. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and throwing the football in the backyard with his nephews.
Brian is preceded in death by his grandmothers Marvella Genetin and Beverley Turner and grandfather Stanley Turner and is reunited with them in eternal bliss.
Brian is survived by his fiancée, Amber Deemer, his daughter Brooklyn, his parents, Ron and Kathy, his siblings Maria (Brandon) Emrick, Katie (Brandon) Webb and Brandon, and his nieces and nephews Grayson, Maddox, Delaney and Hadley.
Family, friends, and others whose lives were touched by Brian are invited to Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am for visiting hours to remember and celebrate the light he left for all of us. A Mass and burial rites will follow on Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Catholic Church at 241 S. Main Street, North Canton. He will be privately laid to rest later at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity close to your heart. The family requests you honor Brian by enjoying a cold Diet Coke and Chipotle bowl while watching a Cleveland sports game.
