He was born April 24, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Robert and Verna (Grimm) Swaffield. Bruce received his undergraduate degree from Kent State University, and his Masters and PhD from the University of Miami. He retired from Regent University as a Full Professor. He was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, North Canton, where he served as an Elder. Bruce was a published author and journalist, an accomplished runner, and a Disney enthusiast who loved to travel.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jeannine; children, BethAnn (Cody) Williams, and Brendon Swaffield; grandchildren, Eleanor Mora, and Alexandria, Dominic, and Henry Williams; and brother, Bradley Swaffield.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 237 West Maple Street, North Canton, with Pastor Rich Holmes officiating. Friends may call from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Monday in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home.
