Douglas Scott Cusick

Doug fought a courageous 1.5 year battle against lung cancer. He would have celebrated his 60th birthday on February 17th. He was born in Wurzburg, Germany. Doug served for four years in the United States Army, finishing at Conn Barracks, Schweinfurt.

Doug is survived by his parents, John and Carol (Senior) Cusick of North Canton, brother, John and Pam (Purses) Cusick of North Canton, two nephews, Cam and Dana (Fraser) Cusick and their son, Zane, of North Canton, and Kyle of New York City.

Doug, the Dude or Dudeman, had many friends at the Geisen Haus where he had his own stein and his picture on a tee. He missed seeing his friends after it closed.

Doug didn't ask for much. He lived a simple life and worked hard as a landscaper for Jerry Redleski and then Lutz Landscaping. He loved sports and could tell you anything about them. He played bass guitar and loved rock music. You never saw him without his Fender hat turned backwards.

Doug's parents would like to thank all the wonderful people for helping them through this: the VA, Aultman Hospital, Palliative Care nurse Suzanna, hospice, their friends, especially the nextdoor neighbor, Sandy Collier - she'd been a blessing always being there for them - and also their son, John, and his wife, Pam, and the nextdoor neighbors in Florida who helped take care of the house.

Per the family's request, Doug will be cremated and no services will be held. Karlo-Libby Funeral Home is assisting the family.
