Homer (J.R.) G Hardesty Jr., age 81, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 in Akron, OH. He was born December 15, 1929 in Bessmer, PA to Homer G. and Lucille (Burns) Hardesty Sr. J.R. worked as a millwright and then later as a welder.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, James Krantz Jr.; three brothers, Art, Jack Sr., and Howard Sr. Hardesty. J.R. is survived by his wife, Margery (Albrecht) Hardesty of 60 years; daughters, Patty (Jim) Krantz Sr. of Navarre, OH, and Carol (Earl) Goss of Diamond, OH; son, Dennis Hardesty I of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Kathy Hostetler, Dennis (Michelle) Hardesty II, Jason (Brandi) Goss, Kristen Goss, and Talia Hardesty; great-grandchildren, Patrick Werstler and Cody Hostetler; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 11:00 am at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The service will be conducted by Rev. Gary Smith. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Contributions may be made to donor’s choice.
