He was born in Pekin, Illinois on September 15, 1948. Jim earned the rank of Eagle Scout in his youth and was a cable company lineman for 35 years, retiring from Massillon Cable after 23 years service. He was an avid supporter of the Jackson High School Marching Band, serving as a chaperone and selling 50/50 tickets. He loved his animals and enjoyed camping, boating and tree trimming.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Roy Hymbaugh. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Nancy (Dunn) Hymbaugh, of the home; children, Heather Meiter, of the home and Bryan Meiter of Lakeview, OH; granddaughters, Lauren and Ashley Meiter; mother, Dominica Hymbaugh; and dogs, Cubby Bear, Angel Sophia and Mazey Grace.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5:00-8:00pm on Monday and from 11:00am-12:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
