Jeffrey G. Harsh went to be with Jesus December 5, 2025 after a long illness. Jeff was an amazing teacher. He retired from Canton City Schools after 35 years. Jeff enjoyed coaching football at Crenshaw Middle School, taking his students to DC and Gettysburg, and hosting the Civil War Museum.
Jeff was an avid golfer and once made a hole in one at Tannenhauf Golf Course. He liked all sports, especially Ohio State Football.
But most important to Jeff was his relationship with Jesus. He was a Young Life leader for many years. He had Bible study and prayer time every day until his last two days here on earth. He prayed for his family, friends, students, and golfing buddies. He wanted everyone to know Jesus. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16.
Jeff was born November 6, 1953 and was adopted by Roy and Jean Harsh of Canton, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his mom, Jean L. (Kiko) Harsh; father, Roy E. Harsh; and infant brother, Gilbert. He is survived by his wife, Melanie Harsh; brothers, Ed (Debbie), Greg (Debbie), and Dan (Val); special friend, Bob (Judy) Galasso; and many nieces and nephews.
Jeff, “you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7.
I love you, Jeff, meet me at the gate.
