

Joseph Anthony Bernabei, age 50, born November 3, 1967, in Canton, Ohio to Marlene and Anthony Bernabei, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017, after a long, hard-fought battle with lung cancer. He was in his home with his loving family, close friends, and two faithful dogs.
He attended Perry High School in Perry Township and graduated from Stark State Technical College. Joe was the I.T. Director at Terry’s Tire Town for over 15 years. He was previously employed over 10 years at the Duncan Hill Group. He was an avid camper and outdoorsman who loved the mountains, spending time with his family, close friends, and two dogs. He especially loved camping in the Allegheny and Smokey Mountains and geocaching. He also loved his music and was a drummer in a band in his younger years.
He is preceded in death by his father Tony Bernabei, from Canton, Ohio, and his Uncle Joe Bernabei, and cousin James Bernabei from Las Vegas, Nevada. He is survived by his mother Marlene Bernabei of Canton, and his devoted wife Michelle (Winkler) Bernabei and three children, Devon, Zachary, and Hailee Bernabei, and his beloved dogs and constant companions Beaker and Pluto. He is also survived by his Aunt Joanne Sares and cousins Missy, Georgianne, Marissa, Katrina, Sabrina Bernabei, and John of Las Vegas, Nevada; cousins Holly, Linda, and Levi of Florida, and Doug from Arizona.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 14 at 12:00 p.m. at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Friends and family may call one hour prior from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Burial will take place at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
