Paul A. Kutcher

Paul A. Kutcher passed away June 13, 2010, in San Antonio, Texas, having suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease for six years. His last year was spent at Esplanade Gardens, where his wife of 67 years, Madonna, also resides.

Paul was born October 30, 1921 in Canton, Ohio to parents Alvin C. and Clara (Wolfarth) Kutcher. After graduating from McKinley High School in 1939 he worked at Timken Rolling Bearing, then served three years in the 8th Army Air Corps in England.

After service, Paul worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years. After retirement, he served as a building inspector for the city of North Canton. His hobbies included traveling, fishing and woodcarving, but his primary interest was in serving Christ. A replica of the New Berlin Post Office, carved by Paul, was given to the North Canton Historical Society.

Preceding him in death were his parents as well as six siblings. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Dr. Gary P. Kutcher and his wife Maria of San Antonio, who assisted in his care for the last year. He also leaves one granddaughter, Heidi Kutcher residing in Silver Spring, Maryland, as well as a host of friends, nieces and nephews.

Paul and Madonna were one of six families to start the First Friends Church of Canton, where he served on the Ministry and Oversight committee and taught Sunday School. Until his passing, he was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ. His favorite scripture was Ephesians 6:13 “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

Family and friends may call Wednesday, June 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday June 17, at 11:00 a.m., and the Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Smith officiating, followed by burial at West Lawn Cemetery.
