

Raymond Louis Bourquin Jr., a proud Vietnam veteran, devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of strength, humor, and unwavering love for his family.
Raymond was born September 13, 1946 in Canton to the late Dolores (Reed) and Raymond Bourquin, Sr.
Raymond served his country honorably during the Vietnam War, demonstrating courage and resilience that would define his life. Even after sustaining injuries, he carried himself with quiet strength and never let adversity stand in the way of living a full and meaningful life. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his service.
He was a beloved husband who shared a deep and enduring bond with his wife, and a dedicated father and grandfather who brought laughter, guidance, and warmth to his family. Raymond truly lived for his grandchildren—they were the light of his life, and he found his greatest joy in the time he spent with them.
Raymond had a gift for making people smile—his sense of humor and easygoing nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
In his free time, Raymond enjoyed bowling and golfing, passions that reflected both his competitive spirit and his love for camaraderie. Raymond was inducted into the Canton Bowling Hall of Fame in 1999. Whether on the lanes or the course, he found joy in the moments shared with others.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Raymond Bourquin III; six brothers; and his sister, Pam Humbert. He is survived by his wife of nearly 39 years, Joanne Bourquin; daughters, Nichole Bourquin, Ann Nischwitz, and Angela Fry; grandchildren, Noah, Aaliyah, Isaiah (Haleigh), Samarah; great-granddaughters, Aubriella and Ariya.
Visitation will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Road NW, Canton, OH 44718, US, on April 11, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
Raymond will be remembered for his resilience, his laughter, and the love he gave so freely. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
