He was born August 31, 1936 in Newcomerstown, Ohio to the late Arthur and Esther (Shaw) Atkinson. Ronald was a graduate of Timken Vocational High School, and was an avid salesman. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father who loved electronics and technology.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Miriam, in 2013; three brothers; and one sister. He is survived by his children, Victoria Shaheen, Kelli DeLillo, Ronald E. Atkinson II, and Scott A. Atkinson; grandchildren, Stacy Lambert and Jesse DeLillo; great grandchildren, Joshua and Tatum Lambert; sisters-in-law, Carol Wagner and Robin Rostonski; numerous nieces and nephews; and caregiver, Jason Strunk.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 1, 2016 in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. Friends may call from 10-11am on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
