

He was a veteran of the US Army and Merchant Marines and served in WWII. He was a 27 year veteran of the North Canton Police Department, Unit 7 and worked for 10 years at the Hoover Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Harper and sisters, Dorothy Gardner and Wilma Van Nostran. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gladys E. (Moffat) Harper, with whom he enjoyed “snowbirding” in Naples, Florida for 14 years; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda E. and Donald Grisez of Uniontown, Sandra K. and Larry Criswell of North Canton; son, Russell David Harper of Jacksonville, FL; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Zoe Harper.
Russell will be remembered for his love of his family, dogs and golf.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. Inurnment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call one hour before services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion, 711 Belden Avenue Northeast, Canton 44704. Arrangements under the direction of Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home, Canton, OH.
