Sandra "Sandy" Marchand, age 83, of North Canton, Ohio passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022.
Sandy was born November 26, 1938 in Massillon to the late Clifford and Geraldine (Bebe) Simpson. She was a graduate of the 1957 class of Jackson High School and then she graduated from the Ohio College of Massotherapy as a Neuromuscular Massotherapist. Sandy married Richard Marchand in August of 1959 and celebrated 62 years of marriage before his passing in July of 2022. Sandy enjoyed doing needlepoint, growing roses, and playing card games or Words With Friends. She was a fabulous baker and well known for keeping a meticulous home. She lived by Sandy's Rules which were no shoes in the house and wash your hands. Sandy also loved to spoil her grandchildren. Sandy was a Carmelite Nun of the Third Order and her religious name was St. Therese of the Two Hearts. She had a fervent devotion to the Rosary and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Along with her parents, Sandy is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and an infant son, Richard Raymond Marchand, Jr.
Sandy is survived four children: Wendy (Mike) Scarbrough, Scott (Elizabeth) Marchand, Ann Marchand-Minor, and Chris (Candy) Marchand; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three sisters: Connie (John) Pellegrene, Ruth Dennis, and Kathy (Dave) Turner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Paul's Catholic Church on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 11 am with a burial to follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
