Sonja Ellen Davis

4 junio, 1941 – 1 marzo, 2026
Obituario de Sonja Ellen Davis
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Karlo-Libby Funeral Home & Sunset Hills Memory Gardens

Sonja Ellen Davis, 84, peacefully entered her heavenly home on March 1, 2026, at 6:27 pm, surrounded by family.

Sonja was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tom. She was a devoted mother to 3 girls: Shari (Bob) Brown, Jill (Duane) Anderson, Wendy (Charlie) Grimes. And a devoted grandmother to 12: Josh (Christine) Brown, Trent (Lindsey Ray) Brown, Gretchen (Joel) Biere, Austin Brown, Grace (Alex Heer) Anderson, Shannon (Jon) Zimmerly, Winston Anderson, Katie (Tyler) Moomaw, Mariah (Andrew) Mahaffey, Leah (Caleb) Griffith, Gwyneth Anderson and Olivia Brown, and Great-grandmother to 9 with 2 more expected this year.

Sonja was born on June 4, 1941, in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Raised in Salem, WV, she met and married Tom in 1959, and they were married for 63 years. She graduated from high school as salutatorian and attended Salem College for a year before devoting her time to being a homemaker and supporting Tom in his career with GM. She worked a few part-time jobs to keep herself busy and entertained while the girls were in school. She was always extending her gift of hospitality and service through their church involvement. They moved frequently, living in Maryland, New Jersey, Mississippi, Delaware, New York, and finally settled in Michigan. Tom and Sonja gathered countless friends as they joined and served the body of Christ wherever they landed. She loved a good card game. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and chocolate was her favorite food.

After Sonja's Alzheimer's diagnosis, they moved one last time to Canton, Ohio, to be closer to family. As her dementia progressed, her love of music led her to become an avid whistler.

She embraced life, lived fully, and loved fiercely. She adored her grandchildren and stayed a constant presence in their lives.

She exuded joy as she followed the steps of Jesus, and we are confident that when she met her Lord and Savior, she was greeted with "Well done, good and faithful servant.”

The family has chosen to have a private graveside service at a later date.
