

Virginia I. (Sweitzer) Himebaugh, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 31, 2022.
Virginia was born in North Canton on August 7, 1931 to the late Leon and Irene (Hinton) Sweitzer. She graduated from Middlebranch High School in 1949. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Hoover Co., where she met Ray Himebaugh. They married on June 17, 1951 and celebrated 52 years of marriage. She and Ray built a house on the family farm in 1955. Virginia was known as "The Golf Ball Lady" because she loved to hunt for golf balls on the golf course. She loved to work in her vegetable garden and strawberry patch. She enjoyed quilting, ceramics, making candy and cookies on the holidays, and playing cards. Virginia had a miniature chihuahua named Pixie, who was her best buddy for many years. She had a taste for fashion and was a Red Hat Lady. She and Ray traveled the world and went to Fort Myers Beach every summer. Virginia was a member of Community Christian Church, where her grandfather was a founding member. She was very family-oriented and loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Virginia is survived by her children: Tim (Sandy) Himebaugh, Todd (Patti) Himebaugh, and Beth (Gary Alldredge) Myers; seven grandchildren: Jesse (Ami) Himebaugh, Amanda (Luke) Dalpiaz, Ross (Anna) Myers, Paul (Amy) Myers, Lindsey Powell, Jeff (Meg) Himebaugh, and Audra (Andrew) Loughner; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ray, infant son, Tommy, and her sister, Ila (Blair) Zimmerman.
Calling hours will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held at Community Christian Church on Monday, February 7 at 11 am with Pastor Sarah Taylor Peck. The family will be greeting visitors at the church from 10-11 am prior to services. Burial will follow at North Canton Cemetery.
