

On July 1st, 1947, God sent one of His little angels to earth. Willie B. Miller, Jr., to parents Virginia D. and Willie B. Miller, Sr.
Willie was a pleasant child growing up in Zanesville, Ohio. The Miller family left Zanesville and moved to Massillon, Ohio. Willie maneuvered through the Massillon Public School System, graduating from Washington High School in 1966 prior to entering the US Air Force. Willie served his country doing two tours in Vietnam and received an honorable discharge. After serving his country, Willie returned to Massillon and united with his junior high sweetheart, Juanita Myricks on October 3, 1970. Their union of 41 years produced two sons…William B. and Julian C. Miller.
As a young couple, Willie sought employment with Conrail for 32 years. Willie and Juanita were affectionately known as the “Travelers” for their love of travel. Not only did they enjoy travel, football and track & field were amongst the top. Willie took his heavenly rest on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center after a long illness.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita; sons, William B, Jr. and Trudie, Julian C. of Columbus, OH; grandchildren: Arianna of Japan and Devonte of Reno, NV; Willie is preceded in death by his parents, Virginia D. and Willie B., Sr.; sisters, Lois Marie Miller-Rhea; nephew, Michael D. Rhea; brother, James Russell Glover; sisters Wilma Jane Miller-Ali and Wilda Jean Miller Dorsey; remaining siblings, Nora Ann Taylor of Akron and Vodry H. Miller of Charlotte, NC. Willie’s extended family ripples like the waves in the ocean with in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. There was no mountain, valley or river too wide to conquer not even death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, August 27, 2012 at Friendship Baptist Church, 920 3rd St. SE, Massillon. Interment in Massillon Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, 9am-11am, two hours before services, at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Foundation.
