Alma went to be with her Blessed Lord and Savior on January 8, 2025, at the age of 94. She was born in Dumas, Arkansas to the late Walter Vermor and Alma Dedman Vermor. Her husband of 66 years, Emil Cagle, preceded her in death in 2014. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Jason Narramore.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Cagle of Wills Point; daughter and husband, Virginia Bishop and Tony; one brother, Richard Vernor and wife Judy, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; two granddaughters: Nicole Darden and husband Shannon, and Ashley Cagle; four great-grandchildren: Brianna Darden, Khloe Darden, Westin Darden, Jason Matthew Narramore Jr. and his mother, Stacy Narramore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a former member of Fairview Baptist Church in Lufkin, where all were her friends and she loved each and every one of them, especially the babies. She was currently a member of First Baptist Church in Wills Point.
Alma worked at Mesquite Memorial Hospital in the insurance department for over 26 years before retiring. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.
