Ann went home to the Lord on June 13, 2022 in Tyler, Texas. She was born on April 30, 1927 in the Highland Community, Van Zandt County, Texas to Elisha Edwards and Ollie Stillwell Edwards.
She married her true love, C. A. Waites, Jr. on October 13, 1945, on the front porch of the preacher’s house in Myrtle Springs, Texas. The couple had 74 beautiful years together at his passing. Ann dearly loved the Lord, her family, and her church family.
After C. A. was discharged from the Army, they moved to Dallas. The addition of Melynda in 1963 completed the family. In 1972, they moved back to the land near Canton they had purchased shortly after their marriage, where they built a home and hosted many family and church-family celebrations. Ann and C. A. were an inseparable team. The foundation for all they did was their unshakable faith in Jesus and steadfast bond with each other. Ann loved to garden and had the incredible Edwards' family green thumb. In addition, she loved cooking, sewing and doing hand-crafts. Many enjoyed her cooking, flowers from her yard, produce from her garden, and advice from her heart. She felt great joy in sharing those gifts with family and friends. Ann was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Canton. She adored teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir, especially with Melynda next to her in the alto section. Ann felt the deep, clear calling to share Jesus, and demonstrated that by witnessing, donating to mission work, and traveling to share her Savior’s message.
“Her children arise up, and call her blessed…many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all”. Proverbs 31: 28-29.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband, C. A. Waites; parents, Elisha and Ollie Edwards; brothers, Melton Edwards, Fayne Edwards and Don Edwards; sister, Ethel Tull.

A visitation will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to express thankfulness and love for the outstanding staff at Country Place Senior Living in Canton, and for her precious neighbors there. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the First Baptist Building Fund.
