Charlotte Aniece Bledsoe, 77, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away in the presence of family on August 28, 2025. Born on February 6, 1948, in Rains County, Texas, Charlotte was raised as the second of six children in a blended family of Melvin Lee and Faye Nell Talley.
Charlotte developed a love of reading at an early age which shaped her future in the legal field. Her 40 plus years as a legal secretary and her role as the mother of four required a blended skill set as both negotiator and on-the-job trainer. Charlotte earned a reputation for her ability to work with “difficult” lawyers and make it look easy. This trait, coupled with her dedication and experience as an IT trainer for one of the largest law firms in Dallas, opened job opportunities across the map - from rural East Texas, to Dallas, and even Washington D.C. In 2007, Charlotte transitioned from the legal field to the role of a public servant when she was elected to, and proudly served, two terms as the Van Zandt County Clerk until her retirement in December of 2014.
In November, 1997, Charlotte married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Bledsoe. They enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and sitting in the sanctuary they created on their patio, which she called, “her healing garden.”
Mom or Mama to her kids, Meme to her grands and great-grands, Charlotte was often found cheering from a set of bleachers or simply providing a loving, listening ear; her home was a haven of prayer and support for her family. Her unwavering faith guided her life and instilled strong values and beliefs in her family.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Bledsoe; brother Kevin Talley; granddaughter Megan Byrns; and first husband, James Burns.
She is survived by her children: Stephanie Deibert and husband Kevin, Lisa Webber and husband Shane, Kimberly Byrns and husband Rex, James Burns and wife Misty Chance; grandchildren: Christian and Chelsea Deibert, Daniel and Lace Deibert, Katelyn and Andrew Kraemer, Ashton Webber, Taylor and Brant Lee, Madison Webber, Cody Connor, and Austin Byrns; 13 great-grandchildren: Sadie, Caiden, Gavin, James, Elise, Rylan, Emersyn, Hadley, Brooke, Brighton, Shane, Asher, Cali; siblings: Larry Wood, Ann Holley, Susan Smith, Jana Talley; and a multitude of other family and friends.
The family would like to give special thanks for the loving care provided by the staff and residents of Wesley House Assisted Living in Lindale, Prestige Estates Memory Care in Tyler, and the team from Kindful Hospice; they cannot imagine this journey without them.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, Texas. Bro. Mike Burns, officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m. Charlotte will be interned at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mallory’s Heart Foundation (mallorysheart.com), or the Alzheimer’s Alliance of East Texas.
