

Services for DaWanna Ann Simon, 59, of Dallas, are scheduled for 11 am Friday, February 26, 2016, at the Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Ronnie Daniell officiating. Interment will be in Haven of Memories.
Ms. Simon passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 in Dallas. She was born September 25, 1956, in Dallas to B.F. "Bill" and Sylvia Aragon Daniels.
DaWanna lived in the Pleasant Grove area her whole life and was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. She was an animal lover and loved to make jewelry, read and shop. DaWanna was an Intel Research Investigator for Homeland Security. She was honored in Washington for her help with the Oklahoma City Bombing. In 1996-1997 the U.S. Customs Service did their first Title III wiretap investigation, and DaWanna was the Intel Research Specialist who analyzed all the data, researched all of the targets of investigation, input all telephone call data and made link charts for the drug trafficking organization that helped federally prosecute 17 individuals. As a result of this investigation, DaWanna and the rest of the office received the U.S. Customs Commissioner's Unit Citation. Over the years, DaWanna has also received numerous awards, both national and local, over the course of her long career.
DaWanna was well loved by her friends, colleagues and family. A friend said this of her, "DaWanna was a rare gem. When she walked in a room she brought sunshine." Her sister, Faye Marie, shared, "She was silly & goofy and most thoughtful and loving sister anyone could ask for. I just pray I was the same for her."
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Billy Shane and Mary Simon; 6 grandsons: Tristan, Liam, Aedan, Rylan, Jayce and Aidyn; parents, B.F. "Bill" and Sylvia Daniels; sister and brother-in-law, Faye Marie and Larry Olson; brother, Robert Taylor and 3 nephews: Kevin Olson, Kyle Olson and David Taylor.
A visitation will be 6-7 pm Thursday at the Troy Suggs Funeral Home in Dallas with a Rosary beginning at 7 pm.
