I have known Don through Gas and Supply. He would come in to pay his bill, and we would get to talking about fishing, fishing, and more fishing. Not only was he a customer, he was a friend. I think he was that kind of person that made friends every where he went, one of those  that never met a stranger. We will miss those cornball jokes, and that friendly smile. He will be missed by all of us here. Never good bye.... till we meet again my friend. 

  I have not known Don long enough. Only a moment. I am his waitress at Denny's in Canton, for about a year and a half now, I think. He would ONLY ask for me. The Honor of that will last my whole life through. 
  He connected with me in such a simple, humble way. The man just wanted his order to be right everytime. Lol. Simple request. He became my most absolute favorite. I adored him. Completely.
  I keep a professional wall up between me and my customers but Don broke it. He was so funny and kind.
  Next thing I knew I was being brought vegetables upon vegetables. I googled how to cook purple hull and okra in new ways....... there was a lot, in times I needed it that he did not know about. 
 I have one purple pea pouch left. In my freeze. Its staying there. Thank you Don, for impacting my southern Soul. You top high just like George W. Bush to this girl. Much of my love,

From the day I met Don, he referred to me as "one of the guys" and having known Don all these years, I take that as the greatest of compliments.  I loved him like a brother and look forward to seeing him again one day.  Don, catch the biggest bass there is in Heaven.  Love you and will miss you more than I can say!

I worked with Don for a number of years in the graphics business.  Don was always the first to say I can help you with that.  It didn't mater if it was a simple project or one that took us late into the evening.  We worked across the street from an Elliott's Hardware store and we would go over there for repair parts often.  It never failed that when the greeter at the door asked us if he could help us locate something Don would always respond with where's the milk and bread?  I never got tired of hearing that and still use the line every once in a while.

Don also taught me to bass fish.  I'll never forget and have the greatest memories of the time spent at Purtis Creek and other lakes fishing from sun up to sun down, trying to catch just one more before calling it a day.

Don had such a positive influence on my life and I am thankful for the time spent with him.

My prayers go out to family and friends for peace at this time.

Don did everything her could to help keep Me, Ken and Brad out of trouble growing up as teenagers with “high spirits”. As a police officer he often had to remind us of our boundaries. Lol... great man of God and patients as we tested it several times.  He was raised by two of the most wonderful parents that ever walked this earth!!  I myself often claimed them as mine!!  Miss you Don and thank you for understanding us and my ridiculous “Far South” phrase that you were sooo tired of hearing me say!!! Lol 

I was a high school classmate of Donald Wayne. He was such a nice person. Connected with him on Facebook a couple of years ago. So sorry to hear of his sudden passing. Condolences to his family during this difficult time.
