

Services for Fred Eugene Tunstill, 76, of Canton, will be held 2 pm Friday, August 16, 2024, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Steve Glosup officiating. Interment will be in the DFW National Cemetery August 30, 2024 at 11:30 am.
Mr. Tunstill passed away August 9, 2024 in Canton. He was born October 5, 1947 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Clarence and Ersie Henderson Tunstill.
Fred served his country as a SeaBee in the Navy and a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Frankston, Texas VFW. He served his community as a member of the Berryville Fire Department and worked with the local EMS. Early years he supported his family as owner of a Texaco station in Dallas and then moved his family to Frankston, Texas and worked as a mechanic in his own business, B & T Automotive. After moving to Canton, Texas he retired as Sergeant of the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office. He enjoyed spending time fishing and coon hunting and was a member of the UKC Coon Club in Frankston, Texas. He was also a member of Grace Bible Fellowship in Canton. Fred's biggest enjoyment was his grandchildren; attending all school and sport activities and bragging on their achievements.
Mr. Tunstill is preceded in death by by his beloved wife of 52 years, Rhonda Sue Tunstill; parents, Clarence and Ersie Tunstill; three brothers and their wives: Paul and Louann Tunstill, Willie Aaron and Betty Lou Tunstill, and Charlie "Uncle Shorty" and Mary Jo Tunstill; sister, Martha Lindsey and Elizabeth and Warren Gardenhire, Brother-in-law James McCann and his parents-in-law, Clyde and Ruth Bell; and grandson, Bo McNeil Shaw.
Fred is survived by his two daughters and their husbands: Angela and Sheb Shaw and Stacy and William Rash; grandchildren: Morgan Tunstill Beadles, Cooper and Megan Shaw, Cole and Katie Shaw, Cade Shaw and Claire, Ayden Rash, Clyde McKinney, Wyatt McKinney and Mack McKinney; great-grandchildren: Isabella Pirtle and Cameron Shaw; sister, Mary McCann; sisters-in-law and their husbands: Kathy and Don Morris and Carolyn and Kenny Evans; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
