

Gary graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School in Dallas, Texas. After high school, he went on and served in the United States Army. Later, he attended Tyler Junior College. He help many different positions throughout his working life. He had the greatest passion for welding and working with metal. He held a Master Welder certificate. He built many different types of metal buildings, fences and other metal structures throughout East Texas and the DFW area during his life.
Gary also had a love for animals, specifically horses. He owned many different types and breeds of horses over his life span. He loved competing in horse shows, rodeos, and helping the youth in the Texas High School Rodeo Association. He spent a great deal of time working with the High School Rodeo Team and providing direction to the kids on the team.
Also, Gary loved the sport of baseball. He was a little league baseball coach and assistant coach for his son's summer league baseball team. Gary loved playing baseball and loved going to Texas Rangers games at the stadium in Arlington, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Witherspoon; his mother, Jean Witherspoon; and his sister, Kathy Witherspoon.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Grant Witherspoon; daughter-in-law, Sarah Bina; his brother, Phil Witherspoon; sister-in-law, Debbie Witherspoon; a niece and a nephew and numerous cousins.
