Georgia M. Tawater Lide

Funeral services for Georgia M. Tawater Lide, 94, of Canton, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2019, at First United Methodist Church in Canton with Bro. Adam Muckleroy and Bro. Herb Marlow officiating.

Mrs. Lide was born May 5, 1925, in Canton to Noah Franklin Tawater and Helen Morris Tawater. She grew up in Canton and graduated from Canton High School. Georgia married Homer Lide and raised their family in Canton and Groves, TX.

Georgia loved fishing, camping and sewing. She loved cooking, spending time with family and winning at card games. Georgia loved watching the Cowboys play. She was the oldest living member of the First Methodist Church of Canton. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She is survived by her children; Pam and David Fontenot of Canton, George Allen and Andrea Lide of Canton, Judy Maxwell of Redding, CA and Gary and Tammi Lide of Canton; Nine grandchildren, Jeffery Fontenot, Wes Lide, Shaun Lide, Jamie Maxwell, Jimmy Maxwell, Julie Maxwell Spinks, Cody Lide, Casi Lide McCoy and Chad Lide; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Cleo Tawater; sister, Colie London; sisters-in law; Frances Tawater, Verna Holland and Janis Baskin.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Noah and Helen Tawater; husband, Homer Lide; four brothers and a sister.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at Eubank Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Haven of Memories in Canton.
