Homer Daniel “Danny” Eason III, 62, of Edgewood, Texas, went home to be with his Savior on June 27, 2025. Born on March 27, 1963 in Dallas, TX, Danny was the only child of Homer Daniel Eason Jr. and Patricia Jones, and the beloved brother of his sister, Analeah Candy and his step siblings. Danny grew up in East Texas and graduated from Edgewood High School. He began his career as a firefighter in Kilgore, Texas, until an injury ended his service. He then dedicated many years to serving with the Veterans Administration in Emergency Management until his retirement in 2023.
Danny was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and faithful follower of Jesus Christ. He married his wife, Lisa, in 1988 and had 37 wonderful years with her. Together they built a life marked by enduring love, laughter, and Christ-centered devotion. He was a proud and caring father to his two daughters, Brittney Burnett and Hailey Cox, and an adoring “Dano” to his grandchildren: Jax Burnett, Jett Burnett, and Brooklyn Cox.
Danny loved his Lord and was never ashamed to share the good news of Jesus Christ, knowing that in Him is the only hope for humanity. His kindness and compassion were a reflection of the Holy Spirit within him. He loved his family and others with a depth that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was also a deeply loyal son, stepson, and brother—cherishing the love of his stepfather, Gary Jones, and the bond he shared with his sister, stepsisters, and stepbrother. And to those who knew him well, it’s no surprise that his faithful dog Sebastian was never far from his side—Danny loved him dearly, and they were constant companions.
A faithful member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Canton, TX, Danny served his church and community with humility and joy. A true East Texan, Danny was known for his steady presence, big heart, and unwavering character.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Lisa, his daughters and sons-in-law, Austin Burnett and Hunter Cox, his grandchildren, his parents, Homer Daniel Eason Jr. and Patricia Jones, his stepfather, Gary Jones, his sister, Analeah Candy, his step sisters, Tami Winkelmann and Jill Philips, and stepbrother, Kyle Jones, and many nieces and nephews who had the joy of knowing him—including his beloved dog Sebastian. We grieve with hope, confident that Danny is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior. One day, our faithful God will make all things new—and for those who are in Christ, we will see him again, face to face.
The viewing will be held at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, TX on Wednesday, July 2nd, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and a celebration of life service will be held at Lakeside Baptist Church in Canton, TX on Thursday, July 3rd, at 10:30 AM.
