Horace Melton Wilson

Horace passed away on August 11, 2023, in Grand Saline. He was born in Everman, Texas on August 9, 1933, to Hugh Ernest and Alice Modean (Hopkins) Wilson. Horace was blessed to meet the love of his life Patricia Ann Holland, who he married on November 26, 1965, and shared 58 wonderful years together. Horace was a proud member of the United States Air Force where he served this country for 20 years before retiring as a Master Sergeant. After active duty, Horace began working with E-Systems to continue serving our country for another 16 and a half years, supplying our military with technology. Six and a half years of his service with E-Systems, currently known as Raytheon, were in Australia. During his time off, Horace and Patsy enjoyed traveling, and Horace enjoyed many types of games, including various card games, and the most difficult Sudoku puzzles he could find. Horace was honored to be a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the VFW #6635 in Grand Saline, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Alice Wilson and twin brother, Harold Wilson.

Horace is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Wilson, often referred to by Horace as “Gracie”; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Berkley, Mary Burton and husband, Nathan, Sr.; friends: Robert McEnturff and wife, Peggy, Larry Page, Jerry Trollinger and his church family at the Big Rock Church of Christ in Canton, Texas.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service.
