James grew up in the Ben Wheeler, Texas area. He enjoyed watching Scooby-Doo, the Jerry’s Kids Marathons and football. Occasionally he had random facts to say, such as naming every Monday night football commentator. James was an “old soul” who loved reading his Bible, and had a childlike love for the Lord. He enjoyed caring for his grandfather. Even though he could not speak Spanish, he understood it, he answered in English, and would have many conversations with his grandfather that way. James loved school and going to summer camp. He loved his Lord, his family and friends. He was adored and greatly loved by all that knew him. He was a positive person in all of their lives and will be greatly missed.
James is survived by his mother, Delfina Sword; his father, Howard Bass; uncle and aunt, Enrique and Juanita Villa, Aunt Sheila Villa; Cousins, Jennifer Brown, Jonathan Brown and wife, Rebecca Brown, Delia Wilson and husband, Kris Wilson, Ricky Villa and wife, Grace Villa, Ruth Villa and Esther Villa; second cousins, Kristopher Wilson, Hadley Villa, Andruw Wilson, Alexandria Brown, and Daniel Villa.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, H. L. Bass and Mildred L. Bass; maternal grandparents D.E. Villa and Bertha Villa; Uncles and Aunts David Villa, Daniel Villa, Darlene Villa, Deborah Brown, and several other family members.
Until we meet again, we will be doing on earth the same thing you must be doing in heaven, which is raising our hands and praising Jesus!
