Jaye Cunningham McGuire

Jaye grew up in Edmond, OK and graduated from Edmond High School. She was Baptist by faith and became a child of God in January of 1966. She married her beloved, Lonnie C. McGuire in 2001. Jaye enjoyed gardening, cooking and entertaining friends and family.

Her most treasured occupation was her time working for Al Levy at Lonnie’s law firm. Jaye did have quite a bit of success in the real estate business in Denton County in the 1970’s. She was not encouraged to attend college in 1956 which she desperately wanted to do. Jaye made her way in both the legal profession and real estate world at a time when they were predominately dominated by men. During her Lewisville days in real estate, she definitely made waves in a man’s world. In 1996, she moved to New York City to make her way on a new journey in a new adventure. Jaye’s law experience proved advantageous in New York as well.

Jaye has treasured the last twenty years of her life with her beloved Lonnie McGuire in both Flower Mound and Athens, Texas. Their friendship spanned almost six decades.

She was always supportive of her children’s extracurricular activities, their education, and her children’s friends.

Jaye is survived by her husband, Lonnie C. McGuire; children ,Randy and Cynthia Mayes, Dana and Daryl Foreman, Mike and Kathryne McGuire, Gene and Tammy McGuire, Laurie and Jeff Henscheid, Kelley and Ronnie Baxter; grandchildren, Katie and Braxton Bragg, Kallie and Dillon Ford, Kyndal Mayes, Cassidy and Kevin Henshaw, Carolyn and Robert Nunico, Matthew McKennon, Meagan and Andrew Fosha, Blake Baxter, Melanie Baxter, Kyle and Collen Henscheid, Randy Henscheid, Marissa Perez; great-grandchildren, Jack Bragg, Crue Bragg, Wilder Bragg, Olivia Ford, Eloise Henshaw, Prater Benson, Jordan Fox, Cameron Fox, Kaleb Fox, Adylan Nunico, Kylie Henscheid, Beau Henscheid.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Maxine Higgins; husband, Jack Cunningham; brothers, Jerry Higgins and Dennis Higgins.
