Johnny was a great man. He basically raised me as one of his own. His son and i were best friends for over 15 yesars. I thought of Johnny as my second dad. He was an awesome petson with such a huge heart. I will forever miss him. God bless him. He's in heaven now resting peacefully. The world will never be the same without him.

Johnny is my father-n-law. From the 1st time we met I knew I would love him. Everytime we went by the house he was kind, had a welcoming smile and always had something to talk about. He always made me feel like a daughter and I will cherish every memory I have of him.

I am Johnny’s niece, daughter of his oldest sister Lilla (Lilly) there is a lifetime of memories I could share, but what I would rather share is that in my childhood he was more like a big brother to me. I loved listening to him sing and play the guitar he was so amazing. In my early adulthood he was really more a friend and teacher. He shared so much of his biblical knowledge with me. He encouraged me when I would come to him when I was down and always lifted my spirit and left me with a smile. He was really a great person nonjudgmental... his heart bigger than Texas. My daughter adored him and she still cherishes her memories of her visits with him. I hate letting him go. I am selfish I suppose on that. I do know that he is happier than he ever was, he is in heaven right now and probably singing with the Angels laughing with our loved ones. He would remind us that we can see him again someday if we call on the name of the Lord.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Johnny. I knew Johnny when he and Dusty were friends and playing together, only after the band broke up. I have a copy of their 45 single record. He was a very good guitarist as well as a singer. I know he will be missed by many.. RIP Johnny!

Lilly, Tony, and families,
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Johnny’s passing. He was a good guy and much loved by friends and family.
I like to picture he and Theresa having a joyful reunion and shining brightly as stars in the sky. We may have lost them here on earth but we have gained the best guardian angels.
My love and condolences on your loss.
Your cousin Linda

I am his oldest son. I have so many great memories with my dad. He was the one who taught everything that I know. He was the one who was always there for me throughout anything that I had to deal with in life. He was my Dad and my best friend. Out of all the memories that I have with him. The one that is coming to mind , the most, is the day that he baptized me. Not only was that a special day with me and The Lord, but I had my Dad there every step of the way. I love him and miss him so much but I know that he is in heaven reunited with his loved ones and in the presence of The Lord and has found great peace.

1 Corinthians 2:9
King James Version
9) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

I only knew Johnny for about three years, when we lived in Canton. But since we were teenagers, that was a big chunk of our lives. We were like brothers. Johnny had recently lost his only brother, and I never had one. He taught me to play guitar, but I never was as good as him. I am so sorry that I can't get to Texas for his funeral, but I will always remember our days together.

Bethany here! Johnny’s great Niece (Lily Moon’s granddaughter) My uncle Johnny was my childhood best friend. Him and I had a very close bond. I would write him love letters and sign them “Love is in the air” I had always thought the world of him from the moment I met him. I remember watching Anne of Green Gables with him and Gone With The Wind, which are now my top favorite movies. He inspired me to play my guitar and sing. I’ll always remember our silly inside joke “What do you do to fix a wiener dogs broken nose? Snooper glue!”
I love you so so much! I will keep you with me forever.

This is Lilly..Johnny's sister.
I remember when my dear brother was born..I was 12 years old..and we were staying with my Daddys mother in Dallas..he was such a cute little baby! I can remember mama coming back to the house holding him..& pulling back his cover to show me his beautiful face! As we grew older we really enjoyed talking about our Wonderful Lord and His Amazing Goodness to us all! Such Precious Memories I have of us..Love my brother!
