Joyce Leen Box

Mrs. Joyce Box passed away peacefully on December 20, 2021. She was born on December 10, 1930 in Nacogdoches County in Texas to Robert and Lona Green.

Joyce was Baptist by faith and a longtime member of 1st Baptist Church of Ben Wheeler. On June 11, 1955 she married her true love, Jimmy Box. The couple were married nearly 60 years at his passing. The couple owned and operated Box Plumbing. Joyce enjoyed dancing, especially doing the Choctaw Boogie. She was a wonderful cook and loved cooking for family. Joyce had great times on trips, her favorite was vacation and trips to Branson, MO. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Joyce leaves an empty space in the hearts of all that knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lona Green; beloved husband, Jimmy Box; great granddaughter, Devon Snell; brothers, Ben Green, Robert Green, Freddy Green and Burnic Green; sister Ruby Langford; other half-brothers and half-sisters.

Joyce is survived by her children, Brenda and Lawrence Snell, Wayne and Elaine Wilson; grandchildren, Michelle and James Jordon, Christy Crook, Michael Box, Selena Wilson, Larry Wayne Snell, Jimmy and JoAnna Snell, Lloyd and Pricilla Snell, Bennie and Manami Snell; 13 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a host of other family and friends.

Interment will be at Prairie Springs Cemetery in Van Zandt County.
