Leonarda, “Narda”, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2023 in Tyler, Texas. She was born in Caragara Leyte, Philippines on August 8, 1939 to Juan Caubalejo and Francisca Candasua Caubalejo.
She grew up in the Philippines and was Catholic by faith. On June 8, 1979 she married Thomas Childs. The couple moved to Canton in 1982 when Thomas retired. Together they build a wonderful life with love and happiness lasting 23 until his passing in 2002. Narda was an outgoing lady, who loved having family around and cooking. Narda enjoyed life and was a blessing to know. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Leonarda is preceded in death by her parents: Juan and Francisca Caubalejo; husband, Thomas Childs; daughter, Josie McGovern; son, Christopher Childs.
She is survived by daughter, Emely Brandao; son, Lawrence Childs; grandchildren, Karen Roberts, Shaun Roberts, Tara Roberts, Rhine Brandao Sr., Dominic Brandao, Jeremy Brandao; 11 great-grandchildren; and other dear family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June, 16, 2023 at Eubank Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton, Texas
