
She was born on March 8, 1944 in Athens to W.B. and Christine Hawkins Hale. She was a cosmetologist, a talented seamstress, and an avid quilter. She was also a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Linda loved her family more than anything on earth. She was devoted to her husband Sherrell throughout their marriage and through his disablement with Parkinson's disease. She spent her life loving, serving, and giving of herself and her resources to her children and grandchildren.
Linda was known for her compassionate, selfless, and giving nature. When she saw a need she did everything within her power to help. Her countless acts of service for others were done quietly and without seeking attention. Her positive outlook, rapt listening skills, and her ability to encourage others made her a cherished friend who saw the best in others even when they did not see it in themselves.
Linda was a Christian whose life reflected the nature of her Savior Jesus Christ by living out her faith in word and in deed. She faithfully served in ministry for many years alongside her husband and was a member of Little Hope Baptist Church.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents.
Linda is survived by her husband, Sherrell Green; daughter, Laura Ortez; daughter, Lisa Lewis; son, Lance Green; granddaughter, Ashley Ortez; grandson, Sterling and Yessica Ortez; grandson, Dustin and Shelby Burleson; grandson, Dakota Burleson; granddaughter, Angela Cole; granddaughter, Genesis Green; and sister, Wanda Alianell.
Family received friends Wednesday evening, December 7th, at Eubank Funeral Home. Services were held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Bill Slayton, Bro. James Nickell, and Bro. Dan Tarno officiating.
Interment was at at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton.
