Linda passed away January 27, 2018, in Dallas, TX.
She was born November 14, 1947, in Athens, TX to J.D. Ashton and Norma Ruth Hathcock Ashton.
Linda grew up in Eustace where she played basketball for Eustace High School. She graduated valedictorian of her class in 1966. Linda married Jimmy Squires July 15, 1966, and they moved to Dallas. Linda was a very hard worker. She was Church Secretary, sold Avon and Home Interior while working full time at Texas Instruments for 30 years before retiring. Linda's favorite pastime was traveling and watching basketball.
She is survived by her Husband of 51 years, Jimmy Floyd Squires; Nephew-Son, Jason Bryan Shirey; Brother, James Dennis Ashton; Sister, Janet Lynn Dockery; Niece, Jaydie Ashton; and Niece, Alicia Renee Ashton.
Linda is preceded in death by her Parents, J.D. and Norma Ashton.
Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.
Interment will be at Moorehead Melton Cemetery in Eustace.
