Mary H. Kent

Ms. Kent passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018, in Chandler. She was born January 25, 1941, in Ben Wheeler to Benny H. and Lavera James Hodges.

Mary grew up in Murchison and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She raised her family in Burleson and returned to Murchison to help take care of her mother. Mary was a hard worker and raised her seven children by herself. She was a good Christian woman and a loving mother and grandmother.

Ms. Kent is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lockie Van Deman; brother-in-law, Roy Head and grandson, Little Jimmy.

Mary is survived by her daughters: Rebecca and Mack McCollum of Murchison, Marilynn and Doyle Cunningham of Oakwood, Belinda Handley of Joshua, Lori and Mark Lynn of Murchison, and Wanda Naven of Haltom City; Stepson, Robby and Kendra Kent of Wellington, Florida; stepdaughter, Juanita Baxter of Cleburn; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Linda and Sam Bass of Ben Wheeler and Edith Head of Murchison; and a brother-in-law, Larry Van Deman of Murchison.

Visitation will be 5-7 Saturday at the funeral home.
