Services for Mary Ethel Gilchrist Rawson, 87, of Canton, are scheduled for 2 pm Sunday, August 28, 2016, at the Church of Christ on Hwy 243 with Dan Manuel officiating under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home. Interment will be in Haven of Memories.
Mrs. Rawson passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016, in Tyler. She was born February 19, 1929, in Ben Wheeler, TX to William Gordon and Vinnie Lee Carroll Gilchrist.
Mary enjoyed being an active member of the Church of Christ. During her husband's career, they moved often and lived in many places before retiring to Canton in 1978. She enjoyed family activities.
Mrs. Rawson is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Bill Rawson, Sr.; two brothers and three sisters.
Mary is survived by her three daughters and their husbands: Jeani and Carol Lee Douthit, Shirley and Winston Douthit and Mary and Jerry Thornton, all of Canton; son, Bill Rawson, Jr. of Palestine; six grandchildren: Jamie Douthit, Ann Stubbins, Carrie Birdwell, Lisa Green, Laura Massey and Bill "Drake" Rawson, III; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Jamie Douthit, Drake Rawson, Billy Bob Massey, Tim Birdwell, Allan Stubbins and Justin Douthit.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
