Patsy was known as “Meemaw” by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her greatest joy was her family and she worked tirelessly to meet their needs. She was happiest in the kitchen cooking her family’s favorite meals. Her love knew no boundaries. If she was sewing, cooking or cleaning she gave life her best always. Her family always referred to her as the “Energizer Bunny”.
She had a career over many years working at Allied Finance in the late 50’s and 60’s, Blue Cross Blue Shield in the 70’s. During these years she enjoyed working in her greenhouse and she grew beautiful ivy plants which she sold. She managed the family business, Automotive Climate Control, from 1977 to 1984. The family business was taken over by her son, Casey and eventually it was relocated to Elkhart, Indiana. She was always very supportive of her husband’s ministry over many years serving as pastor of various churches in Dallas, Martins Mill, and through-out Van Zandt County.
Patsy’s last years were spent at Legend Oaks Nursing Home in Waxahachie, Texas. She shared many days and activities with Sharon Shawn her caregiver and very good friend.
Patsy was a very loyal friend to many. Her faithfulness and spirit of optimism was felt by all of those who knew her well. She was always willing to reach out to those in need and willing to do whatever she could to lift their load. She will be missed by her family. They are thankful that they know to be absent from this life is to be in the presence of the Lord. Thanks to all those family, friends and caregivers who have loved mom during these last years of life.
