
Robert Elden Pietzsch Jr., 75, of Canton, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026. He was born on December 23, 1950, in Dallas, Texas, to Robert Elden Pietzsch Sr. and Dorothy Lee Groves Pietzsch, Robert was known for being hard-working, resilient, and adventurous.
Robert graduated from Mesquite High School in 1968. In his younger years, he played bass guitar in a band, mostly blues, but he loved all music. On April 23, 1979 he married his one true love, Elizabeth Lyles. The couple had 46 years of love and laughter. Throughout his life, Robert held many jobs, but found happiness in farming and raising cows, horses and chickens. He also raised and adored his Pomeranian show dogs, winning many medals and awards.
Devoted to his wife, Elizabeth, Robert cherished family gatherings. He was a beloved father to Erich and Aimee, and he loved his grand dog, Dolly. Robert and Elizabeth enjoyed road trips on his Harley Davidson. He also had a passion for collecting antiques, building and doing carpentry work, and was a big Dallas Cowboys fan. In his younger years, he enjoyed team roping.
Robert was a member of Cross Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas and loved the Lord. He was a devoted, hardworking individual, someone you could always count on.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Dorothy Pietzsch; sister-in-law, Kathy Pietzsch; and his little dogs, Baby and Ginger.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Pietzsch; children, Erich Pietzsch and Aimee Pietzsch; brother, Gary Pietzsch; sister, Vicki Geeslin; brother-in-law, David Lyles; sisters-in-law, Margaret and Scott Hornbostel, Rebekah and Andrew Gant; grand dog, Dolly; and a multitude of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, TX, on February 16, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 am. A Reception with Family and Friends will take place at the same venue at 12:00 pm.
